Lykke House Interior Design
‘A Love Nest Woven’

Project statement: Design a comfortable, loving interior environment that blends the lives and furnishings of a new couple with some newly purchased pieces. Pay respect to the nature of this American farmhouse design while bringing new life and meaning to the existing spaces. Create conversational, dining, and relaxing spaces that support individual, couple, and family activities. Celebrate 'life in the country' in a warm, relaxed, and honest yet fresh manner. Bring nature inside in various ways-art, flowers, plants, baskets, natural materials, design elements, etc.

Connela Kitchen

Connella Kitchen Remodel
‘A colorful new heart for a log home’

Project statement: Totally re-imagine the kitchen as the central gathering spot of this Pacific Northwest log home. A complete gutting of the old kitchen, removing walls, and a reworking of the floor plan to open it up to the living room and home office. Develop a new, comprehensive lighting plan and architecturally treat and enhance the ceiling plane to create visual interest and a dramatic sense of the large log beams and T&G cathedral ceiling. Design new, locally produced custom wood cabinets and a central cooking and eat-in island the coordinates with the existing Douglas fir log structure. Develop an innovative and colorful palette of paint colors and materials-- native slate border and scraped wood flooring, and granite countertops with ceramic tile backsplash. The experience of natural colors and materials is a joyous and natural flow from the nature immediately outside.

Master Bath Connella Master Bath & Powder Room Remodel
‘A rejuvenating bathing environment’

Project statement: Take two existing three fixture bathrooms and re-proportion the space to accommodate a new powder room with a new entrance off from the foyer and develop an expanded new master bath with a compartment for the toilet, a new Japanese soaking tub, an open-to-the-room shower, and a new custom, wood and bamboo vanity, locally made. Create a relaxed, meditative space in the master bathroom that melds with the log interior of the existing house but which gently evokes the soothing qualities of the Orient. Use natural materials like, stone pebbles, and porcelain tiles and paint colors that suggest the rhythms and beauty of the natural world. Borrow natural light through glass upper panels from the adjacent powder room. Celebrate the healing and nurturing elements of water and earth as a balm for the body and the soul.

Paradise Farms Garden

Paradise Farms Organic Living Environment
‘The web of Country life discovered and nurtured’

Project statement: A five-acre vintage farm with outbuildings built originally as a country store, feed store, and gas station is an ongoing experiment in living in harmony and balance with the land, nature, and the organic gardens that contain flowers, herbs, vegetables, fruits, berries and medicinal plants. This is an experiment in living simply, naturally, and sustainably on the land. This experience informs all that we do in designing natural environments for our clients who want to find their way to living a more relaxed, simple and natural life.

 Binnion Master Bath Remodel
‘The Japanese Bath Evoked’

Project statement: Stay within the very small footprint of the original bath, rearranging it so that it functions better. Use sustainable materials-bamboo plywood panels and natural stone pebbles in black and tan, and a hollowed out granite boulder as the vessel sink on a new locally built bamboo vanity. Create a 'wabi sabi' style room in a very tiny space that is soothing, calming, relaxing, inviting and sensuously evocative of being in a Japanese garden. The project includes bamboo trim and a pocket door, and a Japanese style garden path floor design in coordinating porcelain tile. A new, wood window is added to bring in more light and solar gain to the floor, tile wainscot, and shower walls.

Budelsky Olson Kitchen Remodel
‘A Family centered Kitchen’

Project statement: Completely redesign a 1960's era eat-in kitchen for a young family. Create a new floor plan that maximizes the function of the space, creating an island for cooking and eating, areas for homework, art display, phone and family messages, and dramatically open the kitchen to the living and dining spaces, the deck, and the view of the Cascade Mountain range. Create a friendly hub for family activities in a relaxed, simple, and colorful, and meaningful way.
